PUTNAM COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Sheriff Steve Deweese says Rodney Chancy, fugitive from Putnam County, has been arrested.

Chancy, 39, from Winfield was arrested in Kanawha City without incident Sunday morning.

He is serving a six-year home confinement sentence for failing to register as a sex offender when deputies say he did not show up for work or return home Friday night.

Chancy is being held in the Western Regional Jail and awaiting arraignment.

PUTNAM COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Sheriff's deputies are searching for a home confinement inmate who never showed up for work or returned home, Friday night.

Sheriff Steve Deweese says Rodney Chancy, 39, from Winfield may be traveling in an older model silver Chevrolet Cavalier.

Chancy was serving a six-year sentence through Putnam County Circuit Court for failing to register as a sex offender.

Chancy is 5'11", weighs 170 lbs. and has brown hair and blue eyes.

If you see him or know where he may be, call 911 or your local sheriff's office.
