CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Dozens were rallying for rights at the West Virginia Capitol Saturday afternoon.

About 100 people gathered in front of the governor's mansion in support of gun rights across the state.

The West Virginia Citizens Defense League hosted the rally.

The group says they are supporting a bill that would make gun rights uniform and would eliminate existing grandfather clauses.

Currently, areas like Charleston have their own gun regulations.

If passed, the bill would eliminate any inconsistencies in gun laws across the state.

"How is someone in Charleston to know what the ordinances are in Wheeling or how does someone in Wood County know that there's an ordinance in Kanawha County," Citizens Defense League President, Keith Morgan said. "So we want uniformity statewide."

The uniformity ordinance recently passed the house and now goes to the senate for consideration.
