BOONE COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Eleven people were arrested Friday on various drug charges handed down by a Boone County grand jury, according to a news release from the county sheriff's department.
Most of the arrests were related to drug dealing-related offenses, while one arrest was made on a person caught with drugs as deputies were serving an indictment on another person.
For many of the arrests, they were brought about by lengthy investigation into their illegal drug dealings. Some were months or years in the making.
With the exception of one arrest who posted bond, each person arrested was taken to the Southwestern Regional Jail where each awaits arraignment by a Boone County Magistrate.
Additional arrests are expected to be made on other indictments of drug offenders.
Below is a list of those arrested and their charges:
- Harrison Gillman, 45, of Danville, W.Va., four counts of delivery of a controlled substance and a single county of conspiracy. He posted a $40,000 property bond before Magistrate Charles Byrnside and was released.
- Terry Lambert, 38, of Danville, charged with delivery of a controlled substance. Lambert is already incarcerated in the Southwestern Regional Jail in lieu of a $50,000 bond on other drug charges.
- Justin Terral Forbes, 32, of Madison, W.Va., charged with three counts of delivery of a controlled substance. He was transported to the Southwestern Regional Jail, awaiting arraignment before a Boone County Magistrate.
- Jeffrey Lee. Adkins, 36, of Danville, charged with three counts of delivery of a controlled substance. He was transported to the Southwestern Regional Jail, awaiting arraignment before a Boone County Magistrate.
- Jerry Wayne Adkins, 39, of Jeffrey, W.Va., charged with delivery of a controlled substance. He was transported to the Southwestern Regional Jail, awaiting arraignment before a Boone County Magistrate.
- Nina Marie Smith, 37, of Jeffrey, charged with delivery of a controlled substance. She was transported to the Southwestern Regional Jail, awaiting arraignment before a Boone County Magistrate.Patrick
- Michael Clendenin, 35, of Seth, W.Va., charged with nighttime burglary, grand larceny and conspiracy. He was transported to the Southwestern Regional Jail, awaiting arraignment before a Boone County Magistrate.
- Leonard Dillon, 55, of Bim, W.Va., charged with five counts of delivery of a controlled substance. He was transported to the Southwestern Regional Jail, awaiting arraignment before a Boone County Magistrate.
- Marcus Dewayne Thompson, 33, of Danville, charged with two counts of delivery of a controlled substance. He was transported to the Southwestern Regional Jail, awaiting arraignment before a Boone County Magistrate.
- Nedine Kay Carson, 45, of Madison, charged with attempted prescription fraud, uttering and conspiracy. She was transported to the Southwestern Regional Jail, awaiting arraignment before a Boone County Magistrate.
- Bruce Edward Nelson, 53, of Van, arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance and obstructing an officer when deputies were serving one of the felony indictments and noticed the smell the odor of what he believed to be marijuana coming from an outbuilding near the residence. The door was partially open and deputies found him hiding inside the building with marijuana and other drug paraphernalia.
The joint effort was the result of drug investigations between the Boone County Sheriff's Office, the U.S. 119 Drug and Violent Crime Task Force and the Madison Police Department.
