Roads Closed Due to Black Ice Car Crashes

KANAWHA COUNTY W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Metro 911 Dispatchers say black ice has caused several accidents in the Kanawha Valley area.

These roads include Shadyside Road and the exit ramp at mile marker 5 on I-79 N.

There have been several accidents this morning in the area due to slick roads and black ice. Roads are expected to improve by noon.

KANAWHA COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Metro 911 Dispatchers say the fast lane has reopened after an accident near Cross Lanes.

The accident happened just before 4 a.m. Saturday near mile marker 47. The accident caused the fast lane to be shut down for nearly an hour.

There have been multiple reports of accidents throughout our area. Many of the crashes are being blamed on slick road conditions.

KANAWHA COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Metro 911 Dispatchers say the fast lane has been shut down due to an accident near Cross Lanes. There's no word on how bad the accident may be, or if anyone has been injured.

Emergency crews decided to shut down the fast lane near mile marker 47 just before 4 a.m. Saturday.

There have been multiple reports of accidents throughout our area. Many of the crashes are being blamed on slick road conditions.
