MADISON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Police have released the name of the man killed in a crash in Boone County over the weekend.
The single vehicle crash happened about 12:30 Saturday morning on West Virginia 85.
Madison Police Chief Chet Burgess tells WSAZ.com that William L. Topping, 26, of Boone County, was killed.
Witnesses told police that Topping lost control of his vehicle, hit a pole, the vehicle flipped and hit a guard rail.
Burgess says speed may be a factor.
Topping was the only person in the vehicle.
911 dispatchers say about 12:30 a.m. a car crashed along Route 85 in Madison.
Dispatchers say one person died in the crash. Nobody else was hurt, and only one car was involved.
No other details about the accident have been released.
