LAWRENCE COUNTY, Ohio (WSAZ) -- A fire chief ended up in the hospital Tuesday after the truck he was driving overturned.
Elizabeth Township volunteer firefighters say they responded to a brush fire off Township Road 343 when the accident happened Tuesday afternoon.
After putting the fire out and heading back to the station, they say the road actually caved in and broke off -- dropping their fire truck onto its side and into a ditch.
The chief was taken to the hospital but has since been released. Firefighters say they're thankful the situation wasn't any worse.
