RUSSELL, Ky. (WSAZ) -- Administrators at Frasure's Personal Care Home in Russell, Kentucky say crews have nearly repaired all the damage caused by a fire that happened Wednesday evening.

The fire broke out at the home along Riverview Road about 10 p.m.

An administrator says a water remediation crew came out overnight to clean up the water damage. They say the smoke damage is also nearly repaired.

Residents were allowed to stay in the facility overnight.

The cause of fire is still unknown.

RUSSELL, Ky. (WSAZ) -- The cause of a fire at a retirement center in Greenup County, Ky. is under investigation.

Dispatchers say it started about 10 p.m. Wednesday at Frasure's Personal Care Home along Riverview Road. U.S. 23 North was temporarily closed while firefighters battled the flames.

There are no reports of any injuries and the highway has since reopened.

RUSSELL, Ky. (WSAZ) -- A fire is reported late Wednesday night at a senior citizen home near U.S. 23 in Russell, Greenup County 911 dispatchers say.

As of nearly 11:30 p.m., U.S. 23 North remains closed between Ashland Dive and the viaduct as crews fight the fire. The blaze is reported at Frasure's Personal Care Home along Riverview Road. That is a nursing home/assisted living facility.

Russell Police say the fire started in a kitchen area. Everyone in the building was accounted for, and no one was hurt.

The Russell Fire Chief said the cause of that kitchen fire has not been determined.

The sprinkler system was activated, and water damage is reported.

Residents were awaiting word from the nursing home administrator to find out if they could be displaced.
