NEW HAVEN, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Firefighters initially responded to a report of a fire with explosion at Felman Production along W.Va. Route 62, about 2 miles north of New Haven, according to a news release from the New Haven Volunteer Fire Department.
When they arrived, firefighters discovered a large structure on fire inside the alloy manufacturing plant, with flames and heavy smoke visible. Firefighters brought the fire under control by 8:30 p.m. Friday.
As noted earlier, two workers were transported to an area hospital with minor injuries.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by authorities with Felman Production.
Some sort of ignition at the plant resulted in a fire. A couple of workers were taken to the hospital with what are described as minor injuries.
The fire was reported about 8 p.m.
According to its website, Felman Production is a West Virginia-based producer of ferroalloys.
