UPDATE 8/26/14 @ 9 a.m.
HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) – Police have released the names of the five people arrested in a drug raid at an apartment along Adams Avenue Monday night.

The raid happened at 2159 Adams Avenue.

Police say they got the search warrant after receiving numerous tips from neighbors concerning drug trafficking.

"As we hit the door, they were weighing the dope out," said Huntington Police Capt. Rocky Johnson. "They've got it on the scales, they've got the packaging equipment, everything that's there to distribute it, and it was obviously going to hit the street,"

Two of the five people arrested are from Detroit; the other three are from Huntington and were residents of the apartment.

Those arrested:

Desiree Pressley, 23, Huntington
Kimberly Hazinski, 43, Huntington
Heather Butcher, 29, Huntington
Ryan Fortune, 31, Detroit
John Miller, 22, Detroit

All five are charged with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance. Butcher also faces a second possession charge for supervising a heroin sale to a confidential informant, according to the criminal complaint.

During the search, officers say they found 3 ounces of heroin, one ounce of crack cocaine, 8 grams of marijuana, more than $16,000 in cash, scales, packaging consistent with the delivery of drugs, drug paraphernalia, and a Jeep Cherokee.

. "So we've kept a significant amount of at least heroine from hitting the street today," said Johnson

Officers say since July 24, 41 people have been arrested in an ongoing city initiative to keep drugs off the streets. Nearly $62,000 has been seized, along with 15 firearms.

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Five people with ties to Michigan were arrested Monday evening in a drug raid in the 2100 block of Adams Avenue, Huntington Police say.

Officers said neighbors were helpful in netting the arrests and keeping drugs off the street, including heroin, crack and marijuana.

Huntington Police Capt. Rocky Johnson said getting a search warrant was made possible by the cooperation of local residents. He said the suspects were genuinely surprised when officers entered the home.

"As we hit the door, they were weighing the dope out," Johnson said. "They've got it on the scales, they've got the packaging equipment, everything that's there to distribute it, and it was obviously going to hit the street," Johnson said. Officers say since July 24, 41 people have been arrested in an ongoing city initiative to keep drugs off the streets. Nearly $62,000 has been seized, along with 15 firearms.

Huntington Police Police say this is all thanks to increased involvement from neighbors and more foot patrols by officers.
