Five Arrested in Wayne County Drug Sweep

WAYNE COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Five people were arrested Monday as part of drug sweep in several areas of Wayne County.

The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office says Fort Gay Police and Wayne Police assisted in the sweep, which happened about 9:30 a.m.

Deputies say almost all of the buys involved oxycodone. Investigators say they seized more than $3,300 cash, a quantity of 30 mg oxycodone pills and suboxone.

Darrell "Joe" Kitts, 58, and Darlene Kitts, 38, were arrested in an apartment above a bar in Fort Gay, W.Va.

Mr. Kitts was charged with two counts of delivery of a controlled substance. Darlene was charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver and conspiracy.

Michael "Wigger" Thompson, 23, of Fort Gay was charged with two counts of delivery of a controlled substance with intent to deliver. Deputies say he was out on parole on a prior drug charge.

James "Jimbo" Robertson, 48, also of Fort Gay, was charged with two counts of delivery of a controlled substance.

Austin Blankenship, 18, of Wayne was charged with two counts of delivery of a controlled substance.
