Once again the risk of high water will present itself on Wednesday as we return to a tropical clime characterized by uncomfortably high humidity and thunderstorms.
With storms likely to be on radar much of Wednesday, the general statement holds that any area that gets hit once is fair game for street flooding. Get hit twice and small stream flooding is likely and if an area is unfortunate to have 3 thunderstorms, a serious flash flood risk will present itself.
So if you live in a flood prone area, monitor water levels if and when heavy rains develop and be prepared to seek high ground if flood waters approach.
Likewise motorists should be prepared to find alternate routes if flooding overwhelms either the storm sewer system or forces streams to overflow onto roads.
Less humid, drier air returns by Thursday afternoon ending the risk of flash flooding.
