Former Restaurant Manager Charged with Embezzlement

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- The former general manager of a fast food restaurant in the Barboursville area has been arrested and charged with embezzlement.

Steve Romans, 38, of Huntington, was arrested by W.Va. State Police on Tuesday.

According to the criminal complaint, Romans allegedly stole more than $2,600 from the restaurant back in February. The restaurant owner told troopers the missing money was from three deposits that were not made, along with cash that was supposed to be in one register.

The owner says that when she confronted Romans about the missing money, he admitted to taking the cash.

Romans is being held in the Western Regional Jail.
