UPDATE 6/27/13 @ 10:25 p.m.
RUSH, Ky. (WSAZ) – For Amanda Coburn, the shock of finding her father dead inside his home still hasn’t worn off.

“I started thinking maybe I was seeing things,” Coburn said. “I’m still kind of in shock. It just don’t feel, it don’t feel real.”

Coburn last saw her father, Robert Coburn, Jr., 56, a week ago Wednesday and spoke to him on the phone Saturday. They said they’d talk again later that night.

“Whenever I did call back, he had company and he told me to call him back, or he'd call me back later, and he never called back,” Coburn said.

It wasn’t until her calls went unanswered Monday and Tuesday that she began to worry. She went over to his house on Slick Rock Road on Wednesday morning.

"The TV was on,” she said. “He never left the TV on whenever he’d leave.”

Coburn crawled in her upstairs window and didn’t find her father anywhere upstairs. Then she looked in a downstairs window and saw him lying on the floor. She said she called 911 from a neighbor’s house.

Kentucky State Police say an autopsy revealed foul play and they are investigating this as a homicide. They have not yet released the cause of death.

Knowing that someone may have murdered her father is beyond Amanda Coburn’s comprehension.

“My daddy stayed to himself,” she said. “He never bothered nobody. He had his faults just like everybody else.”

Coburn said Thursday she picked up the phone to call him before remembering he was no longer there.
