UPDATE 2/28/14 @ 1:30 p.m. .
WAYNE, W.Va. (WSAZ) – A fourth person arrested Thursday in connection with a murder that happened in Wayne County back in 2012, has been arraigned on murder, robbery and conspiracy to commit robbery charges.

William Bill Coleman, 61, of Dunlow, was arraigned by video from the Western Regional Jail during a hearing in Wayne County Magistrate Court Friday morning.

He remains in jail without bond.

Coleman was arrested by members of the US Marshals Fugitive Task Force near his son’s home in Crum. The arrest came after Task Force members, State Police and Sheriff Deputies spent five hours searching for Coleman after he fled into the woods.

James Spurlock, 46, of Radnor, was shot and killed at his home in May 2012. His seven-year-old son was witness to the whole thing.

Three other men, Dylan Alexander Jarrells, Willie Jay Copley, and Jessie Ray Salmons, Jr., have all made plea deals for their roles in the murder and have been sentenced to prison.

Details of Coleman’s alleged involvement is spelled out in the 11-page criminal complaint filed by the chief investigator in the case, Sgt. S.G. Poff of the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office.

Investigators have said it was a robbery gone bad. The motive was to steal Spurlock's legitimate pain pills.

“The allegation is based on the statements that we had, that he (Coleman) assisted in the planning in what was intended to be a robbery,” said Wayne County Prosecutor Thomas Plymale.

“Mr. Coleman lived close by where this took place so he was someone who was interviewed early. There were a number of people who were possibilities from the outset. It's just that as the evidence statements were developed we got to a point were we felt we could charge him and that is we're we are now," Plymale said.

Plymale says the investigation is ongoing and there could be other people charged in the case.

“I would give a heavy compliment to Sgt. Poff, who has worked this case diligently and really worked the evidence and worked the witnesses to bring about these charges," says Plymale

WAYNE COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- The US Marshals Fugitive Task Force has arrested a fourth person in connection with a murder that happened in Wayne County in 2012.

It's a murder case than many may have considered case closed, but as of Thursday evening, it's back open again.

James Spurlock, 46, of Radnor, was shot and killed at his home in May 2012. His seven-year-old son was witness to the whole thing.

It was a robbery gone bad, and investigators say it was all over drugs. They say the suspects were trying to steal Spurlock's legitimate pain pills.

Three men, Dylan Alexander Jarrells, Willie Jay Copley, and Jessie Ray Salmons, Jr., were all charged with the murder. All three men made plea deals and have been sentenced to prison for their roles in the crime.

Part of each man's deal was to make a statement on the crime. Their statements have led to this fourth arrest, according to US Marshals.

Thursday, the US Marshals Fugitive Task Force used the information from the other men to arrest William Bill Coleman, 61, of Dunlow.

Sgt. S.G. Poff tells WSAZ.com Marshals executed a search warrant at Coleman's son's residence in Crum around 3 p.m. Thursday.

Sgt. Poff says while they were at the residence, Coleman pulled into the driveway, and when he saw investigators, he fled at a high speed up into the woods. At that time, he got out of his SUV and ran further into the woods.

Investigators with the Wayne County Sheriff's Office and West Virginia State Police were called in to assist in the search.

WVSP were in the process of bringing in a helicopter when Coleman surrendered, nearly five hours later, according to Sgt. Poff.

Coleman is charged with murder, robbery and conspiracy to commit robbery.

At this time, his involvement in the murder is not being released, but Sgt. Poff tells WSAZ.com that Coleman was Spurlock's neighbor at the time of the murder.

Coleman is being held in the Western Regional Jail.
