MASON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A Gallia County, Ohio, man has been arrested on drug charges in Mason County, W.Va.
According to the Mason County Sheriff's Department, deputies responded to a call of suspicious activity in the area of Wyatt Street in the town of Mason about 5 p.m. Thursday.
That's where they found a backpack along the riverbank with materials used to make meth.
Investigators say the backpack belonged to Eric Humphreys, 34, of Gallipolis.
Deputies tell WSAZ.com Humphreys was in the process of making a shake and bake meth lab.
Mason County deputies charged him with attempting to operate a clandestine drug lab.
He also was charged by Mason Police for possession of heroin.
Humphreys was taken to the Western Regional Jail.
