Greenup Man Arrested on Child Pornography Charge
GREENUP COUNTY, Ky. (WSAZ) -- A Greenup man was arrested Friday and charged in connection with a child pornography investigation, according to a Kentucky State Police news release.
Keith D. Sammons, 26, of Greenup, is charged with one count of prohibited use of electronic communications system to procure a minor for sexual performance. He was taken to the Greenup County Detention Center.
Kentucky State Police in Ashland received a complaint involving the solicitation of child pornography from the Smith County Sheriff’s Department in Texas.
Sammons is accused of engaging in communications through the KIK chat application with a juvenile female he believed to be 14 years of age.
During the course of their conversation, Sammons allegedly solicited the girl to produce and send pornographic photographs to him. Sammons then produced a pornographic photograph of himself and allegedly sent them to the girl.
The investigation is ongoing.
