MASON COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A man has been charged in a crash between a pickup and a box truck Friday on W.Va. 2 near Gallipolis Ferry, the Mason County Sheriff's Office says.
The pickup truck driver -- James Bias, 59, of Portland, Ohio -- was cited for driving left of center, having no insurance and driving on a suspended license.
A passenger in the pickup was flown to a Huntington hospital. There was no immediate word on her condition. Her name has not been released yet.
The crash happened at 11:56 a.m. Friday.
The driver and a passenger in the box truck said the pickup went left of center. The box truck driver tried to avoid the crash, but the vehicles collided and the box truck went into a field.
The driver and two passengers in the box truck received minor injuries.
The roadway reopened at 1:37 p.m. Friday.
The crash happened about noon on Friday.
We’re told by witnesses that the man and woman in the pickup were taken to the hospital, and that firefighters had to extricate the woman.

The box truck ended up in the middle of a field, trying to avoid a head-on crash.
Both vehicles had significant damage. We’re told the pickup caught fire and truckers in the area helped put out that fire.
911 Dispatchers say the crash is in the area of R&L trucking near Gallipolis Ferry.
Witnesses say the crash involved a box truck and a pickup truck.
There are reports from witnesses that a helicopter has been called in for at least one patient.
