Firefighters: Woman in Hospital after Entering Burning Home

PINCH, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Firefighters say a woman is now in the hospital after she went inside her burning home Saturday night.

Crews say the house on Vine Drive caught fire about 9:30 p.m.

They say the woman and a man lived there but weren't inside when the fire started.

The couple returned to see their home engulfed in flames and entered in attempt to rescue their pets, according to firefighters.

Firefighters say both were injured, but only the woman was taken to the hospital. She suffered burns to her hands.

There's no word on her condition at this time.

Firefighters say some pets were lost in the fire, including a dog and several cats.

It's still unclear how the flames started in the home.
