UPDATE: Chesapeake, Ohio Couple Loses Everything in Fire

CHESAPEAKE, Ohio (WSAZ) -- A husband and wife need to find a place to live after a fire destroyed their home early Thursday morning.

Firefighters were called to the house in the 1500 block of County Road 59 in Chesapeake, Ohio about 6:30 a.m.

Tim and Belinda Rice lived in the house. The couple tells WSAZ.com they had gone for an early morning walk before Belinda’s doctor's appointment. Tim says when he went home to take shower, firefighters were there trying to put out the fire.

Firefighters say it was passerby that spotted the fire and called 911.

Two dogs were able to escape the fire.

There is no word on what caused the fire. The Rice’s had lived in the house for 25 years.

The Fayette Township, Chesapeake-Union and South Point Fire Departments responded to the fire..

CHESAPEAKE, Ohio (WSAZ) -- Firefighters are on the scene of a house fire on County Road 59 in Chesapeake, Ohio.

Lawrence County, Ohio dispatchers say it started about 6:30 a.m. Thursday.

The cause of the fire is not yet known, and there's no word if anyone lives at the home or if anyone was there at the time the fire began.

We have a crew on the way to the scene.
