HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- An early morning fire has destroyed an empty apartment building in Huntington. The fire also forced the evacuation of a neighboring home.
The fire broke out right before 4 a.m. Friday in the 2600 block of Guyan Avenue.
Firefighters tell WSAZ.com that it appeared no one was living in the 2 ½ story house that had been divided up into several apartments. There were no reported injuries.
Crews say flames were shooting from the building when they arrived on the scene. Right now it appears the fire started on second floor in the rear of the house.
No word right now on the cause.
A neighboring house had to be evacuated because of the intensity of the fire. The outside of that house suffered some fire damage.
Fire crews say it took about two hours to bring the fire under control.
