Infant Flown to Hospital After Crash

CLAY COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- An 11-month-old girl was seriously hurt after she was involved in a car crash.

It happened on I-79 North between the Big Otter and Servia Road exits about 5 p.m. Friday.

Police say the little girl was thrown from the car. She had to be flown to the hospital.

The infant's mother was driving the car. Police say they believe she was under the influence of drugs at the time of the crash.

The mother is undergoing blood testing to see what if any charges will be filed.
