UPDATE: Man Arrested in Robbery Attempt at Payday Lending Business

RUSSELL, Ky. (WSAZ) -- A man was arrested in an attempted robbery Friday afternoon at Tom's Pay Day Express in Russell, Russell Police detectives say.

Nathan Arnn, 29, of Worthington, Ky., is charged with first-degree robbery, first-degree fleeing, and tampering with physical evidence.

Detectives say Arnn confessed to the robbery attempt, but he did not get away with any cash.

The incident happened just after 3 p.m. Friday in the 300 block of Ferry Street. It originally was reported as an armed robbery.

Arnn was arrested later Friday night.

Greenup County 911 Dispatchers tell WSAZ.com there was a reported armed robbery at the Tom's Pay Day Express in the 300 block of Ferry Street in Russell.

It happened just after 3 p.m. Friday.

Investigators tell WSAZ.com crews are searching for the suspect along the river bank in Worthington near the city park.

No other information is being released at this time.
