UPDATE: Kanawha County Sheriff Deputy Involved in Four-Car Crash

KANAWHA COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A four-car crash wreck involving a Kanawha County Sheriff's deputy's cruiser sent several people to the hospital Friday afternoon, but the deputy escaped injury, according to the sheriff's department.

The crash happened about 4 p.m. Friday near the old Value City store on MacCorkle Avenue in Jefferson and closed the eastbound lanes for about two hours.

Deputies had not released information Friday night about what caused the crash.

KANAWHA COUNTY, W.Va (WSAZ) -- A Kanawha County Sheriff deputy's cruiser was one of four vehicles involved in a crash Friday afternoon.

Deputies say the crash happened about 4 p.m. Friday near the old Value City Department store, on MacCorkle Avenue in Jefferson.

The eastbound lanes were closed for about two hours.

Dispatchers tell WSAZ.com some injuries have been reported but did not know how many people were hurt.
