Kanawha Teacher's Aide Charged for Having Illegal Prescription Drugs

KANAWHA COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A teacher's aide is out of the classroom and behind bars after police say she bought prescription pills off the street.

Heather Lively works at Riverside High School.

Police arrested Lively after she got into a fight with a cashier at Magic Mart in Quincy, according to police.

West Virginia State Police say she assaulted the woman and threw a pair of boots at the cashier.

During the arrest, they found illegal prescription drugs. Police say Lively admitted that she bought the pills off of someone on the street.

Lively has been placed on administrative leave, according to school officials.
