PIKE COUNTY, Ky. (WSAZ) -- A Kentucky man is facing charges after deputies say he broke into a business and took off with guns and merchandise.

Barry McClanahan, 19, of Phelps, Ky., is being charged with first-degree burglary and criminal mischief.

According to a release from the Pike County Sheriff's Department, deputies responded to a burglary call at the Phelps One Stop about 10 a.m. on October 1.

When deputies arrived, the owner of the shop informed them that the store had been broken into and several guns, electronic items, several cartons of cigarettes and other tobacco products, jewelry and other merchandise.

According to the release, deputies were given some names of possible suspects and began trying to locate the individuals. During the investigation, deputies made an arrest on unrelated charges -- which led them to more information related to the burglary.

As a result of the new information, deputies were able to locate the stolen items on a house on Elm Branch, in Phelps, according to the release.

Deputies also found a gun at the home that had previously been stolen from another residence in Phelps, according to the release.

All the items, aside from a few drinks and some tobacco products, were photographed and return to their proper owners.

McClanahan is being held in the Pike County Detention Center in lieu of $30,000 bail.
