CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Music Lovers can expect some big acts this summer at FestivALL Charleston.

During a news conference Monday, organizers announced the lineup for the annual summer festival.

"Kool & the Gang" will be the headliner of FestivALL 2013. "Kool & the Gang" will be featured at the Mayor's Concert on June 27 at the Clay Center.

Organizers say FestivALL will have a distinctive West Virginia flavor this year as the event overlaps with the state's 150th birthday.

Kathy Mattea will perform for free at Live on the Levee at Haddad Riverfront Park on June 21.

"This is a special year for the State as we celebrate 150 years as West Virginia, and we are fortunate that the state's sesquicentennial on June 20 is followed by our 10 days of FestivALL," FestivALL Director Larry Groce said. "Because of that connection, we have been working closely with several state leaders, the Sesquicentennial Commission and entertainers with connections to West Virginia to make this year's event a major celebration of and for West Virginia."

FestivALL's annual art parade will combine with the state's Sesquicentennial History Parade on June 22 along the Kanawha Boulevard.

Several favorites are also scheduled for the summer festival including, "Smoke on the Water Chili Cookoff," Taste-of-ALL Charleston and Capitol Street Art Fair.

The chili cookoff will move from Haddad Riverfront Park to the State Capitol. Live music and entertainment will also be there during that event.

Wine & All That Jazz and Blues, Brews & BBQ are set for June 28 and June 29 at the University of Charleston.

"These main events and West Virginia-themed performances are the foundation on which we will build the best FestivALL to date as our City becomes a work of art again this year," Groce said. "In the coming weeks and months, we will have more information available about other events, all of which will add up to 10 days, 130 events and 350 performances."

FestivALL Charleston runs from June 20-30.
