GREENUP, Ky (WSAZ) -- Breaks in service lines are causing water problems in Greenup, Kentucky. It's all due to this past week's weather.

According to Greenup Mayor Lundie Meadows, about 2,300 to 2,500 people are without water in the town of Greenup. Those who do have water are on a boil water advisory.

The Lloyd area received water for about 15 hours Saturday, but it had to be shut off Sunday because the tank was low.

Workers are currently making repairs and locate other leaks.

Mayor Meadows is advising residents who do have water to conserve it. Also, you're asked to report any leaks you find to the water plant at (606) 473-6757. You can also call the Greenup City building at (606) 473-7331 or dispatch at (606) 473-1411.
