CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Another arrest has been made in connection with two separate shootings on Charleston's West Side.

Darrell Emmett Carter Jr., 18, is being charged with malicious wounding and first degree murder defined.

According to the criminal complaints, Carter was involved in a shooting on Stuart Street on Sunday, March 30th as well as a deadly shooting on 6th Street on April 23rd.

In the Stuart Street shooting, two men including Carter were shot and Carter was seen running from the scene.

When officers asked him what happened, he refused to cooperate saying he had no idea why he'd been shot and that he did not see his attacker.

As for the deadly shooting on 6th Street, the victim Tymel McKinney, 19, was shot to death while sitting on a front porch.

Police say Carter was present at the shooting. Carter admitted to having a gun, but denies firing it.

Surveillance video shows a man in a gray hooded sweatshirt throw down a pistol. Carter admitted to wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt during the shooting.

Carter also admits that the shooting was gang related and that the reason behind it was disrespect against his gang "Sex-Money-Murder." Carter said he received orders for a "hit" on McKinney from a superior of a gang in Detroit.
