Man Dies After SUV Crashes into Trees along I-64

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A man is dead following a wreck on I-64 in Charleston.

Police tell Kenneth Hughes, 59, crashed his car into a barrier on the Oakwood Road exit ramp early Sunday afternoon. The car also struck an embankment and a tree, and Hughes had to be cut from the vehicle.

Police say he died at the hospital a few hours later.

Hughes had to be cut out of the vehicle, according to officers on the scene.

Investigators say the cause of the crash may have been a preexisting medical condition.
