NEW INFO: Man's Throat Cut at a Bus Stop in Charleston

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A man is in the hospital after his throat was slashed with a box cutter.

Police tell WSAZ.com Timothy Robinson stabbed Thomas Striker while they were at a bus stop at the corner of Tennessee Avenue and Randolph Street.

It happened about 8:30 p.m. Tuesday night.

Striker is in the hospital in stable condition.

Robinson was also taken to the hospital with an injury to the shoulder. He was treated and released, then arrested and taken to the South Central Regional Jail.

He has been charged with malicious wounding.

Police say they are still trying to figure out what led up to the stabbing.

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A man was hurt Tuesday night in a stabbing on the city's West Side, Metro 911 dispatchers said.

The victim suffered injuries to the neck and upper chest.

Dispatchers say it happened about 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at a bus stop at the intersection of Tennessee Avenue and Randolph Street.

The suspect also was injured, but his injuries were described as minor. Police detained the suspect at the scene.

There was no word on a motive for the stabbing.
