SANDY HOOK, Ky. (WSAZ) -- A man was shot in the shoulder early Wednesday morning at a home along Dehart Road in Elliott County, Ky., sending him to a Huntington hospital for treatment, Kentucky State Police say.
William Reed, 22, of Sandy Hook, was treated at Cabell Huntington Hospital and released.
Troopers were notified about a shots-fired complaint along Dehart Road at 1:22 a.m. Wednesday. They say the shooting happened at a home during a New Year's party.
Reed got into an argument with a man in his late 50s, troopers say. As of Wednesday night, no charges had been filed against that man. His name was withheld.
Troopers say a friend took Reed to Elliott County Ambulance Service before he was transported to Cabell Huntington Hospital.
The incident remains under investigation.
