UPDATE: Man Arrested in Huntington Shooting

UPDATE 10/11/13 @ 7:50 p.m.
HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A man was arrested Friday in a shooting that happened Thursday in the 2000 block of 11th Avenue, Huntington Police say.

Cantrell D. Foreman, 21, of Huntington, was arraigned in Cabell County Magistrate Court and charged with one count of attempted murder in the shooting of 25-year-old Christopher Jones.

Police say the shooting happened as a result of a domestic situation between Foreman and Jones.

HPD Lt. John Williams says Jones was shot several times while he was in bed. Williams says a 6-year-old child was in another bed in the room, but was not hurt.

Foreman will be taken to the Western Regional Jail. Huntington Police say he has no prior arrest history with their department.

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Huntington Police say a 6-year-old child was present in the bedroom where a man was shot Thursday morning in Huntington.

The shooting happened in an upstairs apartment in a duplex in the 2000 block of 11th Avenue just after 7:30 a.m.

Lt. John Williams says the victim, Christopher A. Jones, 25, of Huntington, was shot several times while he was in bed. Lt. Williams says the child was in another bed in the room, but was not hurt.

Jones, the child, and child’s mom all lived in the apartment.

Williams say the woman told investigators that right before the shooting she walked out into the hallway and found a man wearing all black and his 20’s standing there. The woman says the suspect then walked into the apartment, going straight to the bedroom, without saying a word, and opened fire.

Police say Jones is in stable condition at the hospital with non-life threatening wounds.

Williams says the woman did not recognize the shooter.

Police say the suspect fled west towards 20th Street. Right now, they do not have a motive for the shooting.

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Huntington Police are on the scene of a shooting at a a residence near the intersection 20th Street and 11th Avenue.

The shooting was reported just after 7:30 Thursday morning.

Police tell WSAZ.com a man was shot and taken to a local hospital.

There is no word on a motive or suspect at this time.

There is also no word on the condition of the victim.
