RUSSELL, Ky. (WSAZ) -- Police have made an arrest in the armed robbery of the Cash Express store in Russell, Ky.
The robbery happened shortly before 12:30 last Friday.
Police arrested Timothy Martin, Jr., 29, of Flatwoods, Ky., on Monday. He is charged with 1st degree robbery.
They also arrested Martin’s girlfriend, Amber McCleese, 27, of Argillite, Ky., on an unrelated outstanding warrant of failure to appear.
Police say $951 was taken in the robbery. They say after leaving the store, Martin, armed with a handgun got into a waiting vehicle and left the area. Police say a passerby was able to get the license plate number and give it to investigators.
Police say there may be additional arrests in the case.
