Mason County Student Accused of Making Threats at School

MASON COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A 17-year-old student from Mason County is in a juvenile detention center after allegedly making threats at school.

The Mason County Sheriff's Office says the alleged threats happened Thursday morning at Point Pleasant High School. The specifics of the threats are not being released.

Deputies tell WSAZ.com the teen did not have a weapon at the school. They also believe he acted alone.

The teen was taken into custody at his home in Leon Thursday afternoon.

He has been charged with one count of making a terroristic threat.

Deputies are talking to students and parents about the incident.

His name is not being released, due to the fact that he is a juvenile.

The teen is expected to be in court next week.
