CINCINNATI (AP) - A jury has found an Ohio priest guilty of a charge that he took a 10-year-old boy to West Virginia for sex more than two decades ago.
Federal jurors found Robert Poandl guilty Friday of transporting a minor in interstate commerce with the intent of engaging him in sex.
The charge carries a possible sentence of up to 10 years.
Prosecutors say the priest from a suburban Cincinnati-based religious order took the boy to Spencer, W. Va. in 1991 and raped him while visiting a church there.
Poandl's attorney denies the allegations, saying the accuser didn't even make the trip.
The accuser made his allegations to West Virginia authorities in 2009 and Poandl was indicted there, but those charges accusing him of sexually abusing the boy were dismissed.

Robert Poandl of the Cincinnati-based Glenmary Home Missioners has pleaded not guilty.
Jury selection for his trial began Monday, after U.S. District Judge Michael Barrett rejected a defense motion to dismiss the case on statute of limitations grounds.
The charges were filed 21 years after the abuse allegedly occurred while the two visited a church in Spencer, W.Va., in 1991.
The judge found that the prosecution has clearly alleged an offense involving sexual abuse of a child under age 18, under federal law permitting prosecution of sexual abuse at any time during the life of the child victim.
Federal magistrate judge Stephanie Bowman issued the order Thursday against Rev. Robert Poandl of the Cincinnati-based Glenmary Home Missioners.
An indictment in Cincinnati federal court Wednesday accuses Poandl without listing specifics of taking the boy on Aug. 3, 1991.
In 2010, a West Virginia judge dismissed charges against Poandl that accused him of sexually abusing a 10-year-old boy while the two visited a Roane County, West Virginia church in 1991.
In February Glenmary said it had relieved Poandl of ministerial duties in three Georgia communities and asked him to return to the Glenmary residence in Cincinnati.
