CHILLICOTHE, Ohio (WSAZ) – A vigil took place Tuesday for a teenager killed this past weekend in a “car surfing accident” in a Walmart parking lot.
Friends, family and classmates of Jacob Wolfe gathered in prayer outside Chillicothe High School.
Jacob, who was 16, was riding on the hood of a car when he fell off, hit his head and later died from his injuries.
Jacob's family does not want the driver to face any charges.
Jacob had planned to be a youth pastor at his church.
Police in Chillicothe say 16-year-old Jacob Wolfe was riding on the hood of a 1991 Honda driven by another teen in a Walmart parking lot. He fell off and suffered a severe head injury.
The Associated Press reports that he died as a result of the injury on Sunday afternoon.
Police are still investigating the incident, but no charges are expected.
Pastors and grief counselors were to be available Monday to help his fellow Chillicothe High School students cope with the loss.
