UPDATE: Woman Killed in SUV vs. Coal Truck Crash; Name Released

JOHNSON COUNTY, Ky. (WSAZ) – Troopers have released the name of the woman killed in a crash between a coal truck and SUV in Paintsville Wednesday.

Ruth A. Davis died in the accident.

The crash happened at the intersection of U.S. 23 and Ky. 321 about 3 p.m.

KSP says Davis attempted to turn south onto U.S. 23 and pulled into the path of the coal truck. Both vehicles came to rest in the northbound lanes of U.S. 23.

The coal truck driver was not hurt.

JOHNSON COUNTY, Ky. (WSAZ) -- The northbound lanes of U.S. 23 have reopened Wednesday evening in the area where a person was killed in a crash between a coal truck and a car, Johnson County 911 dispatchers say.

The accident happened about 3 p.m. Wednesday near the intersection of Ky. 321 North.

No other details about the accident were released Wednesday night.

JOHNSON COUNTY Ky. (WSAZ) -- One person has been killed in a crash between a coal truck and a car on U.S. 23 in Johnson County.

Dispatchers tell the accident happened near the intersection of Ky 321 North. The northbound lanes in that area are closed. The crash was reported just before 3 p.m. Wednesday.

Dispatchers have no other details at this time.

The Kentucky State Police Vehicle Enforcement Division is handling the investigation.
