HINTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- One man is dead after being shot by law enforcement officers.
The incident took place early Saturday morning.
A domestic complaint came from Miller Avenue in Hinton, West Virginia.
According to State Police, Shane Gumm broke into his ex-wife's house, stabbed her boyfriend, Rick Cline, and then assaulted his ex-wife, Mika Gumm.
When officers arrived, they found Shane Gumm with a large hunting knife. After being ordered to drop the weapon, Gumm made aggressive moves toward the officers, resulting in both officers firing their guns. Gumm died as a result of his injuries.
Mika Gumm received a cut to her hand during the incident. Her boyfriend, Cline, received several cuts to his abdomen and ear. He was flown to Charleston Area Medical Center for treatment. He is believed to be in critical condition.
Neither officer was injured.
A protective order was in place against Shane Gumm at the time of the incident.
