Outages Causing Phone Problems in Kanawha County

KANAWHA COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A phone outage is causing issues for several thousand people in the Kanawha Valley.

According to Metro 911, there is a Frontier outage in the Nitro area affecting the 755 and 759 phone exchanges.

The outage is affecting about 3500 customers.

There is also a frontier outage in the Tyler Heights area affecting the 769 and 776 exchanges, according to Metro 911.

About 2700 customers are affected by this outage.

Frontier communications say a fiber line has been cut in the area. At this time, they are not sure how the cut happened.

There is no word on when phone service will be restored.

If you need to call 911 and have a cell phone -- use your cell phone. If you do not have a cell phone go to your nearest fire station or medic station.
