CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Susan Lavenski, a PR representative with Charles Ryan, says they have decided to stop representing Freedom Industries. The decision was made this morning.
This comes after a chemical spill from Freedom Industries seeped into the Elk River which then placed nine West Virginia counties under a "Do Not Use" advisory and a State of Emergency.
Kanawha County Commission President Kent Carper says a containment wall at Freedom Industries was in need of repairs totaling $1 million. He says because of this, the chemicals were able to seep through, over or under the faulty containment wall.
The affected counties include: Kanawha, Boone, Putnam, Lincoln, Logan, Clay, Jackson, Roane and the Culloden area of Cabell.
