CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- We now know the name of a man who was hit by a car in Charleston Thursday night.
Police say Robert Fields was walking along Route 21 near Chandler Drive when he stepped out in front of a car and was hit.
The accident happened Thursday about 8 p.m.
Fields was taken to the hospital, where he is listed in serious condition.
Dispatchers say it all happened at about 8 p.m. along Route 21 near Chandler Drive.
Officers say the pedestrian was taken to the hospital and is not doing well at this time.
Traffic was shut down for some time but has now been reopened.
