Pedestrian Hurt in Accident on Charleston's West Side

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A woman was hit by a truck and taken to the hospital Monday afternoon after an accident on the city's West Side, Metro 911 dispatchers said.

It happened just before 1 p.m. Monday in the 700 block of Virginia Street, which is in the vicinity of the Save-A-Lot store.

Dispatchers say the woman was crossing the street when she was hit.

She went to the hospital with leg injuries. The driver of the truck was not hurt.
