MARMET, W.Va. (WSAZ)-- Neighbors in Marmet say the site of a fatal train accident Monday is a frequent trouble spot.

Officials from the Marmet Fire Department tell WSAZ.com that about 1:30 p.m. Monday, a passing train hit and killed a man. It happened near the intersection of 98th Street and Ohio Avenue.

Steven Dawkins says the victim is his 54-year-old brother Anthony Dawkins from Chesapeake, W.Va.

“He just liked to run on the railroad tracks but I guess he ran once too often,” Steven said.

Dawkins says his brother has been running along the tracks in the area for more than 20 years.

“He's going to be greatly missed, he really is,” Steven said.

The site of Monday’s fatal accident is also the same area where three others have been killed in the last 10 years.

Marmet firefighters admit the area is a trouble spot but are unsure why.
