Police: Man Arrested after Trying to Rob Store in Huntington

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A man has been arrested after police say he tried to rob a tobacco and beverage store.

Johnny Cooper, 28, was arrested late Friday night.

Huntington Police say Cooper tried to rob Stogie's on 1st Street.

Police say he walked into the store just after 11:00 p.m., pulled out a knife and demanded money.

Police say he took off when a second employee came into the store.

Cooper is now in the Western Regional Jail. His bond has not yet been set.
