LINCOLN COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Lincoln County Sheriff's Deputies say a man put himself in the hospital after trying to hide drugs from them.
They say Travis Matthew Scarberry was pulled over on Route 34 while driving into Lincoln County Thursday. Police found him armed with a handgun and illegally carrying oxycontin pills.
Deputies say Scarberry swallowed about 50 of those pills in attempt to hide them from investigating officers.
He was taken to Cabell-Huntington hospital to be monitored.
