SOUTH CHARESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Kanawha County Schools says Ruthlawn Elementary School in South Charleston will be closed Friday after a gas leak at the school.
The school dismissed at 10:45 a.m. Thursday due to the reported gas leak.
The school's principal tells WSAZ.com the custodians noticed the leak from the kitchen about 10 a.m.

The school's principal tells WSAZ.com custodians noticed a gas leak from the kitchen about 10 a.m. and school officials made decision to send children home.
When that decision was made, parents lined up outside the building to pick up their children. Some students were sent home by school buses.
Investigators say the gas is still on at the school, but there's no word if it will be shut off.
No one was hurt or affected by the leak.
About 300 students attend Ruthlawn Elementary.
