Five Arrested for Drugs Following Report of Robbery

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A report of a robbery led police in two cities to five people, including the men who told police they were robbed.

Huntington Police say two men approached several officers at the scene of a car accident Sunday night and said they had just been robbed at gunpoint at a residence at 541 22nd St.

HPD then issued a "be on the lookout" or "BOLO" for the suspect vehicle.

About 9:30 p.m. Sunday, Hurricane Police pulled that car over on I-64.

Those officers told Huntington Police that inside the car they found about a half pound of marijuana. Police said the pot was allegedly stolen from the men in Huntington.

Hurricane Police tell they arrested the three men inside the car.

According to court records in Cabell County, Karson Williams, 19, of Cross Lanes , Jacob Brown, 21, of Nitro, and James Flint, 20, of Nitro were each charged with 1st degree robbery.

Police say those arrests then led them back to the men who filed the original robbery complaint.

According to the criminal complaints , Neal Richardson,20 of Huntington and William "Kevin" Maynard, 22, of Huntington were arrested and each charged with possession with the intent to deliver a controlled substance.

Huntington Police say when they went back to the location where the original robbery allegedly happened, they found 18 grams of marijuana and hydrocodone pills.

The Huntington Police Patrol Division, Huntington, Police Department Violent Crimes Drug Task Force, West Virginia State Police and the Hurricane Police Department all worked together on this case.
