UPDATE: Power Restored to More Than 4,000 in Parts of Boyd County

UPDATE 7/2/13 @ 3:30 p.m.
BOYD COUNTY, Ky. (WSAZ) -- Power has now been restored to nearly 5,000 customers in the south Ashland and Summit areas of Boyd County.

Dispatchers believe a problem with a transformer knocked out power for about an hour.

There is no word from AEP on what caused the outage.

BOYD COUNTY, Ky. (WSAZ) – Nearly 5,000 customers in the south Ashland and Summit areas of Boyd County are without power.

Dispatchers believe a problem with a transformer knocked out power.

They say AEP crews are headed to the area, but they do not have an estimate on when power will be restored to the 4,800 customers.

Boyd County 911 says crews are working to place stop signs at intersections where traffic lights not working.
