UPDATE: Route 85 in Boone County Back Open

BOONE COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Route 85 in Boone County is back open after a wreck Thursday morning led to a shutdown.

The crash happened about 8:30 a.m. Thursday near Premier Bank.

Boone County 911 Dispatchers tell WSAZ.com the driver crashed into a power pole and a fire hydrant in the area. The power pole fell across the road.

The driver took off after the crash.

The West Virginia Department of Transportation says utility companies were on scene all day, dealing with the downed lines.

The crash happened about 8:30 a.m. Thursday near Premier Bank.

Boone County 911 Dispatchers tell WSAZ.com the driver crashed into a power pole and a fire hydrant in the area. The power pole fell across the road.

The driver took off after the crash.

Crews are on scene to repair the damage.

Traffic is being diverted to the Benjamin Price Bridge.

No word on when the road will reopen.
