BOYD COUNTY, Ky. (WSAZ) -- The Sears store at the KYOVA Tri-State Mall in Cannonsburg is reportedly closing its door in May.

Employees at the store tell WSAZ.com they were notified that the store is closing May 11. They also say the Auto Center will close at the end of February.

The employees say they were not given a reason for the closing.

We have reached out to Sears corporate headquarters and KYOVA Mall management for information, but have not heard back.

Sears Holdings said last fall it would likely spin off the auto business along with other units, including Land's End, to save cash.
